VENTILATION FOR BUS, VAN, AMBULANCES, OFF-ROAD, 4X4, BOATS, ANIMAL CARRYING VEHICLES, COMMUNITY BUSES POLICE AND OTHER SERVICES If you need:Reliable air extraction, or blow-in, low amp draw, radio suppressed (very long life!) and twin bearing motors in 12V or 24V, low profile of 2.6”, so that it is almost hidden from view, with a polycarbonate dome UVA tested and MIRA approved, fixed with security 40mm x 5mm screws. Click on the solutions below to view more information: Solution 1 - The Vent Fan
The usual solution is the PACET Ventfan VF4840, as fitted as OE. For commercial vehicles, vans, mini buses, ambulances, estate and off-road vehicles plus a host of other applications i.e. long boats and other waterborne activities, all need positive ventilation. Well established, with low profile, UVA fade free polycarbonate dome, long life, radio suppressed motor with twin ball bearings, they are fitted as OE by a number of manufacturers in various industries. Can be used to great advantage in conjunction with air conditioning, or solely as a stale air and condensation extraction. Normally used and supplied as extractors.
The units can be supplied with a flexible seal, a rubber like moulding which is fixed around the centre and is raised when the fan operates. This ensures the extraction of stale hot air, but when the motor is switched off it acts as a seal preventing cold downdrafts from blowing back into the vehicle. This version is only suitable for the EXTRACT version - add /FS to the part number, i.e. VF4840/FS. The unit is easily fitted, using a template. The interior trim ring comes in three thicknesses, i.e 10mm, 40mm and 60mm. The 10mm is most suitable for a single skin roof of, say 3mm as for an unlined van roof. The 40mm is the original interior trim size, covering wide range of applications, again easily fitted with a location pip and a cut-out for the motor cable. For vehicles with a more substantial roof or false ceilings, the 60mm trim gives sufficient protection. Trim Rings available: Dome colours:
Solution 2 - The Speedvent
The latest addition to our family of roof mounted fans is the Speedvent, part number VF4850, specially designed to fit in with the latest styling of modern vehicles. The super new shape includes a leading edge ‘bib’ for extra strength, airstream penetration and water protection. This is the result of much testing and research. We are also introducing the moulded flexible seal, a unique method of eliminating cold drafts without sacrificing air extraction performance. It is similar to a pressure relief valve. The Speedvent has the same low profile but square, polycarbonate dome with the established power package, as the Ventfan. This combination produces, in our view, possibly the most effective vehicle extractor fan on the market.
This is again designed, tooled and manufactured here in the Thames Valley, using the same polycarbonate, UVA proof material as the existing Ventfan and White Van Fan. The possibly unique bib matches the top of the wedge shaped front providing added water and wind protection through its wind-cheating streamlined shape. The flexible seal as in the other extractor Ventfans of the range is again available for the extractor version. To make fitting easier we have incorporated 4 x 6mm threaded brass inserts into the shroud base, so that the unit can be secured from within the body area. Again a template takes the guess work out of fitting the fan. A total of 7 screws securely fixes the fan to the roof. Trim Rings available: Dome colours:
![]() Solution 3 - The Blow-in Louvered
The success of the Pacet Roof Fan range has been achieved with the good, sound basic design constantly researched and improved. One issue still outstanding, was the question of blowing air into the vehicle, and to make it directional. The solution was to incorporate a movable ‘eyeball’ which directs the normal airflow to precisely where it is most needed and wanted.
