CHOOSING WHICH FAN - STEP BY STEPBecause the Pacet International can be fitted into the matrix of the radiator or A/C condenser dimensions can be an important guide as to the size of fan required. OE Manufacturers tend to put larger radiators where required so this helps in deciding the fan size. Pacet
engineers have considerable experience backed by lots of records in helping decide the
correct unit. This service does take time so a letter, fax or email together with vehicle
details and your address will help us to assist you. The easiest way is to click here and complete the quote request. Having decided what size is required the next stage is to choose whether a Puller (behind the rad) or Blower (in front of rad) is suitable. Pulling is the most effective as the radiator is not shielded by the fan, but most important is that 100% of the air is pulled through the matrix. When space restrictions dictate then blowing can also be made to work. The Pacet International fan shroud is designed to function in either mode with a purpose produced Puller or Blower blade. The dedicated directional Thinline or Profan are the thinnest versions because of the extra blade thickness, For the Pacet Club range a blade known as reversible can be fitted for either direction. Whilst this sounds ideal the disadvantage is that the depth of the motor is greater by some 10 - 20mm restricting the number of applications.
With the size and location decided the next decision is whether to buy
just the fan assembly, i.e. what we call the FMS (Fan, Motor & Shroud) leaving
you to choose your own components or the complete kit which consists of FMS thermostat wiring &
quickmounts. Each
fan size page lists the motor variations and differing performance. Bigger motors take
more depth but can make a significant performance
gain.
